As I prepare to preach week by week, my primary purpose is to honor our great Savior. Every sermon, regardless of the text or topic, must be pleasing to Him. Does it lift Jesus up? Every song we sing, whether psalm, hymn or spiritual song, must be a Jesus song. Our church is a “Jesus” church or it is not a true church at all.

Why do I bring this up? There is so much that threatens to creep into our lives that dishonors the Lord. Sometimes we lose sight of why we do what we do. I don’t want that to happen here, and this morning I want to offer some words of warning as well as words of encouragement.

The desire that we have to see God do something special in our lives pushes us to pray. To that end, we are calling on you to join us for a protracted time of prayer beginning on Sunday night March 14th. We are asking people to come to the church to read the Bible and pray. Beginning with Genesis 1:1, we will read straight through while others are praying at the same time. Sign up! By honoring the Word and calling out to the Lord we are trusting God to move in our church.

Your Servant in Christ,
Bro. Monte
