One of the clearest, most direct and welcoming invitations in all of the Bible is recorded for us in Matthew 11:28-30. “Come unto me all you who struggle and are burdened down and I will give you rest.” That is my translation, but I think it is right on target. This invitation is directed at you, and if you truly want to come to Jesus you certainly are welcome. So this morning I am preaching a very simple message called “Come to Jesus.”

We welcome you to Concord Baptist Church on this wonderful Lord’s Day. It has been a good week and a great weekend. Our student ministry has been involved in Disciple Now. Every year on President’s Day weekend our students come together for a special time of spiritual growth and encouragement. Through small group Bible studies, dynamic worship and spirit-filled preaching they are challenged to be their best. Along the way they have had a great time.

Tonight’s service is youth led and I really hope you will come back. Rush Witt, Minister to Young Adults at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida will be our guest speaker tonight. You can get in on a little bit of what our students have experienced this weekend.

In the coming weeks we will be digging into Matthew 12 and concentrating on “Our Great Savior.” There is no one like our Savior and I want to clearly proclaim it! As we move toward spring, this is a great time to bring a friend. We have plenty of room for more in our church family. We may not have plenty of time. Let’s aggressively seek those who do not know our Jesus or do not have a church home.

Your Servant in Christ,
Bro. Monte
