Happy New Year and welcome to Concord! I hope you have had a good week and are ready to hit the ground running for a brand new year. It will bring many challenges to us, but with each challenge will be an opportunity to see God at work.
We saw Him work through some difficult times in 2009 and we grew through it all. Only He knows what 2010 will bring. We will experience it one day at a time. We will walk together through everything that comes our way.
This morning I am talking about the “Expectations of a Disciple” from Matthew 10. The Twelve Disciples could never have expected the twists and turns their lives would take. He called them, challenged them, and changed them. They went where He would go and knew His presence all along the way. His call to us is just as life-changing today.
January is “missions month” here at Concord. We will hear reports on mission activities from our congregation over the past 12 months. You will be challenged to give a special gift to missions through our Global Impact Offering. This above the tithe giving enables us to give additional support to our missionaries and mission projects at home and around the world. You will be hearing much about this in the days ahead and we call for your support.
May God bless you as we enter 2010 together.
Your Servant in Christ,
Bro. Monte
