How to Study the Bible
Instructor: Mike Miller
Class Description: The Bible, the very Word of God, is food for our soul. It’s able to make wise the simple and yet there are some things that are hard to understand. How do we rightly divide it so that we get the sense and are able to understand the meaning? And when we understand the meaning, how do we apply it so we are taught and instructed in righteousness, and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? This should be our goal for Bible study. In this class we will learn how to rightly divide the word by actually doing it. We’ll be going through Galatians and other selected scriptures. (6 weeks)
Classroom: Annex Suite G – Class Times: Tuesdays 6:00 pm beginning September 28th
The Great Exchange: My Sin for His Righteousness
Instructor: Ken Weiler
Class Description: We’ve heard the word “atonement,” but do we really understand its significance? If Jesus Christ died for your sins, and he did, that makes him the most important person in your life, and his death the most important thing he did. So walk through this study of Christ’s Great Atonement and learn the depth and riches of the cross. The Great Exchange exalts Christ’s finished work of atonement as the central event of all history, where, in union with Christ as our wrath-bearer, curse-bearer and sin-bearer, our sin is forever exchanged for His righteousness. Learn why even though we deserve condemnation from God, he has given us the opportunity for forgiveness and eternal life through the death of His Own Beloved Son! Based on “The Great Exchange: My Sin for His Righteousness” by Jerry Bridges & Robert C. Bevington (9 weeks)
