Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)
Being a mother of young children is a blessing! It is also a difficult and demanding labor of love. Our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) ministry exists to meet the myriad of needs of mothers with young children. The purpose of MOPS is to nurture mothers of preschoolers by meeting their distinct needs to the glory of Jesus Christ. MOPS is a group of mothers who have preschoolers. They meet during the school year on the first and third Tuesday mornings of each month. Biblical principles are presented on how to be a better mom, wife, and friend. There are always snacks, crafts, inspiration, fellowship, support, and much more. Child care is provided by way of the Moppets program. For more information on MOPS, click here.
Apples of Gold
Apples of Gold is an eight-week course, meeting weekly, to help older women nurture younger women in the Word of God. Each class has three segments: (1) a cooking lesson based on the meal of the evening; (2) Bible study on subjects such as kindness, loving your husband, loving your children, purity, biblical submission, and hospitality; and (3) a dinner served by former Apples of Gold members. Apples of Gold provides an opportunity to get to know ladies who can share from past experiences about dedicating the home to God. Opportunities exist after each Apples course concludes for further one-on-one discipling.
Widow’s Connection ministers to women who are either recently widowed or widowed for some time. This ministry has grown in its reach and seeks to minister to widows not just of Concord, but widows within the entire Jefferson City community. The group meets for a 6-7 week period to address the grieving process through a God-centered and God-honoring lens. The group goes through journaling study, From One Widow to Another. The Widow’s Connection also meets on the second Saturday of each month from 10 am to noon for fellowship, support, and practical instruction regarding matters relevant to widowed life.
