Children’s Ministry

Concord Kids

“Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, ‘Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it'” (Luke 18:15-17).

In the 2 years that I have had the privilege of being on staff with Concord Baptist Church, I have had a “front-row seat” to experience all that this great church has to offer children and their families. And I can say with confidence that we are doing everything in our power not to hinder kids (or parents) from encountering and experiencing the transforming power of our Lord Jesus Christ.

One thing is for sure: Concord has something to offer every kid and every family!

Kidshine

KidShine

In June, we offer the children of Concord and the community an opportunity to shine with the KidShine Performing Arts Camp. This camp is such a tremendous tool to tap into the gifts of each child to explore how God has given each of them special talents to be used by Him. Before family and guests, they perform a musical from what they have learned during the week – it is always an unbelievable treat!

VBS

Each summer, members of Concord come together in anticipation of one of our biggest and best outreach tools to the community with our Westside VBS (Vacation Bible School @ Concord) and our Eastside VBS (@ the community center near Lincoln University). At each VBS, we will have kids learn about the truths found in God’s Word and how to apply them to their lives daily, all designed in an exciting theme for each summer.

Concord Kids

During the school year, we offer Concord Kids (Pre-K through 4th grades) as an excellent way for kids to be able to continue their faith journey each and every week. During Concord Kids, children have the opportunity to learn about missions and music, as well as walking through the Bible with the lessons found in the “Gospel Project.”

But above all…

We desire for our kids and parents to be influenced by the unchanging truths found in the Word of God and to be an impact agent wherever they go.

We believe that this emerging generation and their families literally are the future of America and its legacy of faith. They are uneasy about the future, juggling way too many balls, and being ambushed by the demands (real or otherwise) by the world. In many ways, they are under attack culturally, morally, technologically, spiritually and in so many other ways.

I firmly believe that transforming children into spiritual champions should be our church’s top priority. Concord has to leverage itself to be equipped to engage these kids and families so that the transformational work of the Holy Spirit can happen. And we each can help play an influential role in nurturing this next generation! We must act and plan with a real sense of urgency and a genuine sense of purpose.

Our hope is for plans, programs, and people who will influence for the great God we serve and for the mission field that we have been placed here in Mid-Missouri. We have a call to do as much as we can, for as long as we can, to make much of God and His message of redemption! And I pray that you will join in prayer, in hearts, and in hands and feet in the tremendous work in this area!

I am so excited for the future of the Children’s and Family ministries here at Concord, and with so many of you invested in influencing this next generation, how can you not be optimistic for them!
To God be the Glory forever and ever!
