Welcome to Concord on the first day of what promises to be a very good week.  Vacation Bible School begins tomorrow and I am very thankful.  I am thankful for each teacher, leader and worker that gives of his or her time so we can continue to do a daytime VBS.  I am thankful for every parent who works out a schedule so that their child can benefit.  I am thankful for every boy and girl who will come with a heart open to the gospel.  I am thankful for air conditioning.  It will be a good week.
 
Throughout the Old Testament there are signs that point to the first coming of Jesus Christ.  There are even more signs that point to His second coming.  In  Matthew 16 the Pharisees and Saducees demanded a sign that Jesus was the Messiah.  Jesus did not cater to them.  He simply pointed to His resurrection and said “This is all you need”.  In the hardness of their heart they would not believe.
 
God puts signs in front of us all the time.  Mankind is just as hard headed and hearted as those of Jesus’ generation.  People still demand and ignore the signs.
