Today is Father’s Day and we welcome you as we pay tribute to the dads of Concord. I am preaching this morning on “The Makings of a Father” and that is not a typo. A father must make many commitments in life and he is constantly seeking to make things better for his family. Good dads are at a premium, but to those dads who set their hearts to make their kids turn out right, we say “thank you.”
Mission trips abound right now are we are starting to hear some good reports. Teams have returned from Greece, Utah, and another team has just started its work in Mexico. You have the opportunity to be part of a local trip right here in Jefferson City. We are preparing to take Vacation Bible School to a group of children on the east side who may not have had the opportunity to participate in the past. Contact Debbie Miller if you would like to participate.
We welcome Dr. Brian Green as our guest worship leader this morning. He has done this many times before and we appreciate the Green family. While Mark is on vacation we know we are in good hands.
Join us tonight as we conclude our “Welcome to Concord” emphasis. Tonight we will talk about the ministries and mission of Concord. Dr. David Tolliver will be our special guest as he gives us some insight into the workings of our denomination. Coming on the heels of the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention we will have an opportunity to hear his thoughts on changes that are on the way.
Your Servant in Christ,
Bro. Monte
